And the elite few hoard any technology rediscovered within. The only escape from the deadly climate is beneath the surface. But it’s another disaster underground. Monstrous machines lurk in the depths. Unhinged demigods war against them, dying over and over, treating it all like a game. The land itself shifts over time, more contraption than rock. And an ominous prophecy states that the key to everything waits at the last level — but nobody’s ever reached that far. When an expedition into the far uncharted north goes terribly wrong, Keith Winterscar and his father get trapped together in a desperate fight for survival. Stumbling upon an ancient power struggle of titanic scale; the two will need to set their differences aside while they struggle against Gods, legends, and the grand secrets of the realm that lies below. RoyalRoad supremacy. I waited a year to read many chapters at once You start waiting at December 31 Time to this to start reading this one. It's been rotting in my backlog. so ? did you? if yes how was it, I am in the same boat as you and thought to get an opinion before starting I'm around in the middle of Book 2. So far there's no lack of action and the world building don't suffer despite the fact that it's full of tense moment after another. Very vivid setting. The protagonist is young and inexperienced so he makes some reasonable mistakes. The rest of cast are well rounded.I actually decided to read this on Royal Road right after I skimmed through the comments here and saw the author being such laid back guy. It's very high quality and reads like a published book, definitely deserves as one if not Royal Road's best fiction. Royal Road is truly something else... First, it's free to read, unlike webnovel. Second, its standards are way higher than webnovels. Any book doing slightly well on Royal Road is better than top sellers of Webnovel. On the other hand, if books like these or The Perfect Run is published on Webnovel, they would do shit, cause people just don't have good taste over there... They love cliche tropesThose immature fools Looking at the nice review below i'll just bookmark this and read this later when i don't find my other interesting genre novels i like. Very boring. Aborigines are trying to set up the Internet, as they always fight with each other. Generally velkom tupid 9/11 sadly no towers but top 3 novels on this website Hot take: this story is going to become a redeemed machines x humans vs the evil godess route, and I'm not a fan. To be honest I looked at this story several times before giving it time it deserves. Fantastic story. I just finished second book, and it’s well worth reading.
